Hotel Description

You know what? Paradise Greenland caught me completely off guard. I mean, with a name like that, I was honestly expecting some cheesy tropical-themed place with fake palm trees and plastic flamingos – but it’s actually got this understated charm that grows on you. The three-star rating might make you think it’s basic, but honestly, they’re doing way more with less than some of those overpriced four-star places I’ve stayed at.

The first thing that hits you when you walk in is how genuinely welcoming the staff are. Not that forced hotel smile thing – I’m talking about people who actually seem to care whether you find the place okay. Check-in was smooth (thank god, because I’d been traveling for like twelve hours), and they threw in little details that mattered – like actually explaining the best times to grab breakfast before it gets crowded, or mentioning that the elevators can be a bit slow during peak hours so maybe take the stairs if you’re on the second floor. The rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works properly, which honestly is more than I can say for some places. The beds are actually decent – firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you slept in a hammock, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine taking off every twenty minutes.

What really sold me on this place though is how it feels… I don’t know, real? Like, you’ll see local business people having coffee in the lobby in the morning, not just tourists taking selfies. The breakfast setup is solid – nothing Instagram-worthy, but proper coffee and fresh options that’ll actually fuel your day. I overheard the manager chatting with guests about genuine local spots to check out, not just the obvious tourist traps everyone recommends. The whole vibe is just refreshingly unpretentious. Sure, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities, but sometimes you just want a place that does the basics really well without charging you extra for every little thing. The 8.3 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s the kind of score that comes from consistently meeting expectations without any major disappointments. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels more like a comfortable base than a destination in itself, Paradise Greenland hits that sweet spot perfectly.

Everything provided for comfortable stay. Car can be parked inside fence, next to house. One big water bottle provided + starbucks capsules for coffee. TV with some DVD movies. Great location for visiting volcano park. Great sound at evenings from small frogs (coqui) – meditative 🙂

The place was really clean and appeared to be newly completed. Loved the black out drapes. The bed was super comfortable. When one person moved, the other didn’t feel it.

Loved the location and the jungle sounds at night. An easy access to all the places we wanted to explore and not far from the town’s restaurants and shopping. The room was clean and comfortable and the host was friendly.

It was clean and bigger than expected. cute little guest house behind the owners own home. They had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. There was no air conditioning but they had 2 ceiling fans in the room.

It is a very nice and clean apartment in the middle of nowhere 🙈 the bed is very big and comfy and there were a lot of towels, toilet paper and stuff. We felt very comfortable in the apartment. There was free coffee!

    Everything.

Embarrassingly Moe had to personally pick me up because I cant find anything right under my nose including his place. I tip my hat to him and his supreme hospitality and kindness. The only one shortcoming/ fault is that the area is densly populated with feral dogs which are part/parcel with the island’s just like the feral cat’s which you can’t get around as they’re a staple of the island’s..The latter shouldn’t/ doesn’t detract from my otherwise favorable review…..
