You know what? I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Puu Poa 102, I wasn’t exactly blown away by the exterior. It’s got that solid, no-nonsense vibe that screams “comfortable but not fancy,” which honestly ended up being pretty refreshing after staying at some overly polished places that charge you twenty bucks for a bottle of water.

The thing about this place is that it grows on you, and I mean that in the best way possible. The location is actually pretty sweet – you’re close enough to hear the ocean (which, let me tell you, beats any white noise machine), but far enough back that you’re not dealing with the constant parade of beachgoers trudging past your window at 6 AM. The unit itself has this lived-in feel that I really appreciated. The kitchen’s got everything you actually need, not just the bare minimum that some places try to get away with. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because, well, the local grocery runs aren’t too bad and it saved me from those tourist-trap café prices.

What really won me over was the lanai – I spent way more time out there than I expected, just watching the palm trees do their thing in the trade winds. The Wi-Fi held up surprisingly well for work calls (yeah, I know, who works on vacation, but sometimes you gotta), and the AC didn’t sound like a freight train, which has been an issue at other places I’ve stayed. The building’s got character without being run-down, if that makes sense. Sure, the bathroom could use some updating and the carpet’s seen better days, but everything works and it’s clean. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want – a place that doesn’t try too hard but gets the job done. The neighbors were pretty quiet too, which I wasn’t expecting given how sound can travel in these older buildings. I’d actually stay here again, especially for the price point – it’s got that sweet spot of being comfortable without breaking the bank or making you feel like you’re roughing it.

  Overall great location – especially if you like a gated/planned community atmosphere – safe, quiet and beautifully landscaped. The unit itself is also beautiful and well-appointed and seems to have been recently refurbished, with nice beachy touches. There is plenty of seating, kitchen and bathroom space. We were only one couple, but it could easily hold 2 couples, as long as one is willing to sleep in a queen bed. The king bed was very comfortable. The kitchen has plenty of pots/pans, plates, utensils, etc. There are large sliding doors, which are beautiful and provide a great ocean view with a large grassy area out back. The pool area was superb – and was never overcrowded – great water temperature, plenty of umbrellas and lounge chairs and very well-maintained. I saw other comments about a lot of stairs, but we didn’t find that to be the case at all – access was very easy and we have no complaints!

  This condo was gorgeous! The photos really don’t do it Justice. It was so well appointed w furniture and furnishings. Awesome huge walk in shower. Great beds. Stunning ocean view and sunsets. Steps to the pool. In a beautiful part of Princeville. This place was just absolutely top notch! Very quite and exclusive area. The pool over looking the ocean was so beautiful.
