Hotel Description
You know what? Valley Isle Resort surprised me – and I mean that in the best way possible. When I first pulled up, I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But sometimes these mid-range spots actually get it right where the fancy resorts miss the mark entirely.
The thing about this place is that it feels like someone who actually lives here designed it, not some corporate committee. The lobby has this relaxed vibe that immediately makes you drop your shoulders – you know that feeling when you realize you can finally stop being “on” from traveling? The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. They actually knew stuff about the area and seemed like they wanted to be there. I mean, the woman at the front desk told me which food trucks to hit up and which beaches get crazy crowded (tourist tip: avoid anything near the main drag on weekends if you value your sanity).
What really won me over was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between comfortable and unpretentious. The rooms aren’t trying to be something they’re not – they’re clean, the beds are actually decent (I’m picky about mattresses), and honestly, the shower pressure was better than half the expensive places I’ve stayed. The pool area is where you’ll probably spend most of your downtime anyway, and it’s got this laid-back atmosphere where families aren’t stressed and couples aren’t performing for Instagram. There’s usually a good breeze in the afternoons, which is clutch when the sun gets intense. I noticed they keep the common areas pretty quiet after 9 PM too, so if you’re one of those people who needs actual sleep on vacation, you’ll appreciate that.
Here’s the thing though – this isn’t a place that’s going to wow you with over-the-top amenities or concierge services. What it does do is give you a solid home base without the attitude or the price tag that comes with resort life. The location works really well if you’re planning to explore rather than just park yourself poolside for a week. You’re close enough to the good stuff without being right in the middle of all the tourist chaos. Parking is straightforward (no valet nonsense), and you can actually walk to some decent local spots for dinner. I found myself coming back each evening feeling like I’d had a real day, not just a manufactured vacation experience. For an 8.1 rating, it honestly overdelivers – sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that just focus on doing the basics really, really well.

The room was absolutely wonderful. The view from the balcony was amazing. The room was large with a full kitchen, living room and a bedroom. Sunsets were perfect from the balcony! We slept in the living room and listened to the waves crashing all night. The water was about 50 feet from the room. We stayed at 4 different places during our Hawaiian vacation. This was our favorite!

I like the property. I’ve stayed there for years, but the condo itself, not so much.
I liked that it had a washer and dryer.
I love the ocean-front view.Michael from United States (6/10)
The location is good. The view from the balcony was exceptional. Easy parking.

The view out off of the balcony was amazing. Plenty of parking and not far from the main road, Great whale watching right off of the balcony but that’s about all that is good for this place. You will need a car as there is really nothing close by here except for Dollies Pub that wasn’t too bad.

Key code sent to me via app and via email so it we had it without any specific check in. The room itself was nicely appointed. There were great little touches like the decorations and amenities. It was right on the beach. Our first impression was a good one. However, that quickly soured due to the problems and roaches.
