Waikiki Banyan 613 Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Waikiki Banyan 613, you immediately get that relaxed Hawaii vibe — it’s not trying to be fancy, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about the place. This three-star property sits right in the heart of Honolulu, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. You know what really struck me? How quiet it feels despite being so close to all the action on Kalakaua Avenue. The building offers a refreshing alternative to typical beachfront accommodations, providing guests with an authentic Hawaiian experience that feels both comfortable and inviting.
The Location Advantage
You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Waikiki Beach, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of the beachfront hotels. The apartment-style setup means you get more space than your typical hotel room, which is actually pretty smart when you think about it. Couples seem to really appreciate this setup — there’s something about having your own little space that makes the whole Hawaii experience feel more authentic. The building itself has this vintage Hawaii charm that newer resorts just can’t replicate, offering a perfect blend of convenience and character.
Living Like a Local
What I loved most was the kitchen setup — you can actually cook your own meals if you want to save some money because eating out in Waikiki every night adds up fast. There’s a decent grocery store just a short walk away, and picking up some fresh poke or local fruit for breakfast became part of my daily routine. The parking situation is handled pretty well too, which anyone who’s driven in Waikiki will tell you is no small feat. This convenience factor really sets the property apart from other accommodations in the area.
The Space and Amenities
The unit itself feels more like staying in someone’s well-maintained vacation home than a sterile hotel room. You’ve got actual living space to spread out, which makes a huge difference when you’re staying for more than just a quick weekend. The building has this great pool area where you can actually relax without fighting for chairs — something that’s honestly rare in this part of town. I spent quite a few evenings there just watching the sunset colors change over the city, creating memories that will last long after your vacation ends.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to wow you with a fancy lobby or a high-end spa, but that’s sort of the point. You’re getting genuine value in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Hawaii, with enough space to actually live a little during your stay. The fact that it consistently gets such high ratings, especially from couples, tells you something important about the experience. People leave here feeling like they got more than they expected, which speaks volumes about the property’s appeal and authenticity in delivering memorable Hawaiian vacations.

Very short walk to the beach, convenient location and on the cooler and quieter side of the building. Parking was a great benefit as it can be costly to pay for parking anywhere in Waikiki.

Amazing spot. Clean, in a great location and easy to check in. Host is very responsive so I didn’t have to wait long for a response. The beds are comfy and lots of natural light.
