I mean, you can hear the faint cheers from the beach crowd, but you’re watching this whole spectacle unfold from your window with a drink in hand.

The space itself is what you’d expect from a 3-star spot – clean, functional, nothing fancy but everything works. What really sets it apart though is that ocean view, and I’m not talking about some sliver of blue you have to crane your neck to see. This is proper Pacific stretching out to the horizon, with Diamond Head sitting there like a postcard in the distance. The trade winds actually reach you up here too, which is something you don’t always get in the lower floors of these Waikiki towers where the air can feel a bit stagnant.

The building’s location puts you close enough to walk to Kalakaua Avenue in about five minutes – you’ll hit the ABC stores, Duke’s, all the usual suspects – but you’re not dealing with the street noise that comes with being right on the strip. Parking can be a bit of a headache (this is Waikiki, after all), so definitely ask about that when you book. The check-in process was pretty straightforward, though I’d recommend confirming your floor beforehand because there are other units in the building that don’t have nearly the same view situation. During peak season – basically December through March and summer months – you’ll want to book this well in advance because locals actually know about this building, and once word gets out about a good fireworks view spot, it spreads fast. The studio setup works well for couples or solo travelers, though if you’re planning to spend a lot of time inside, you might feel a bit cramped after a few days. But honestly, if you’re coming to Waikiki to hang out in your room, you’re doing it wrong anyway.
