The golf course views are legit, though don’t expect Augusta National or anything. You’re looking out at the Waikoloa Village Golf Course, which is honestly perfect for that morning coffee ritual. I mean, watching early golfers tee off while you’re still in your pajamas hits different when you’re used to staring at parking lots back home. The condo itself is pretty straightforward – we’re talking functional kitchen, decent-sized living area, and bedrooms that do the job. The AC works well (crucial in Waikoloa since it can get surprisingly warm), and the Wi-Fi was solid enough for those inevitable work calls. Parking was never an issue, which anyone who’s dealt with Kona accommodations will appreciate.

Here’s the thing about staying in Waikoloa Village – you’re about 20 minutes from the fancy Hilton and Marriott properties, but you’re also in this weird sweet spot where you can hit up Foodland for groceries without tourist pricing, and you’re close enough to Waimea that you can actually explore upcountry without it being a whole production. The trade-off is that you’re not walking to beaches or restaurants, so you’ll need a car, but honestly most people rent one anyway. I loved being able to come back from a long day at Hapuna Beach or exploring up near Mauna Kea and just chill by the pool without fighting resort crowds. The place gets quiet early – like really quiet – which was perfect after those inevitable long Hawaii days. Sure, the furnishings could use some updating and the bathroom fixtures have seen better days, but for the price point and that 8.0 rating, it makes total sense. It’s one of those places where you realize you’re paying for location and space rather than fancy amenities, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need for a proper Hawaii vacation.
