You know what struck me first about this place? The name actually delivers – you really are just steps from the beach, and I mean literal steps, not that “short walk” nonsense some places pull. The Kihei Oceanside Escape sits right where you want to be in South Maui, close enough to hear the waves but far enough from the main drag that you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise from South Kihei Road.

The balcony is honestly the star here. I spent most mornings out there with coffee, watching the sunrise paint everything golden – and later, when the trade winds pick up around noon, it becomes this perfect spot to cool off between beach sessions. The unit itself has that lived-in vacation rental feel (this is a 3-star spot, so don’t expect resort-level finishes), but everything works and it’s clean. The kitchen’s actually useful if you hit up Foodland for groceries, which I’d recommend because eating out every meal in Kihei adds up fast. There’s decent parking too – not always guaranteed in this area, especially during whale season when everyone and their cousin visits.

What I really appreciated was the location knowledge you gain staying here. You’re walking distance to some of the better local spots that tourists driving from Wailea or Lahaina miss. There’s this little stretch of beach right out front that gets way less crowded than the main Kihei beach parks, and honestly, the snorkeling’s just as good. The trade winds can make afternoons breezy (which is actually perfect for cooling off), but mornings are usually calm and ideal for getting in the water. I mean, you’re not getting Four Seasons luxury at this price point, and the decor’s a bit dated, but when you’re spending most of your time outside anyway, who cares? The 8.5 rating makes sense – it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. Perfect for couples or small families who want that authentic Maui beach experience without the resort crowds or the resort prices.

  Good amount of space for a family of four. Pool and grills are great. Prompt communication from the owner – AC had to be replaced and a curtain rod had to be repaired – handyman came right away. Large window with a sliding door which lets in the breeze and provides a nice view of the ocean.

  바로 앞에 비치가 있어 너무 좋았음. 공항에서 멀지 않아 편리하였음 할레아칼라 국립공원까지 조금 오래 걸려 약간 부담스러웠음 결국 둘째날 예정한 하나까지 가지 못해 아쉬웠으나 리하우나가 가까워 즐겁게 지냈음
